Work that got done, on the bill.

LineTack is a service for plumbing and HVAC contractors in the United States. A technician texts what he bought and which job it was for — “2 ball valves, Smith 104 Elm” — to one number. LineTack prepares a draft line from it and puts that draft in a review queue. The office approves, edits, or rejects it, and LineTack delivers the approved line back to the business as a billable line against that job, ready to be added to the customer’s invoice.

Where LineTack is today

LineTack is in pilot and is not yet generally available. Approved lines are delivered to the business as a billable-items sheet — an email with a CSV attachment listing the job, description, quantity, cost, markup and price.

Not yet available: a direct write into QuickBooks Online, reading receipt photos, and automatic job matching. Each is in development and this page will say so when it ships. Billable expense tracking in QuickBooks Online will require the Plus or Advanced plan.

Nothing reaches a customer without a person approving it

Every line LineTack produces waits in a review queue until someone at the business approves, edits, or rejects it. There is no automatic approval, and LineTack does not create or send invoices to your customers.

How it works

What LineTack does not do

Text messaging

Program: LineTack job-costing messages. LineTack receives text messages from workers at subscribing businesses, who are enrolled by their employer and consent at that time. Message frequency varies with how often your team texts. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. See the Privacy Policy for how message content is handled.
